Privacy Policy

At Get Smart Content we believe that privacy is an important part of our website optimization services. For this reason we maintain a simple and straightforward privacy policy that lets you understand what we do and how you can opt out of our functionality involving Local Shared Objects.

1. Information Collected
   • Get Smart Content only collects non-personal information relevant to individual campaigns.
     • For example, if a campaign is set up to serve content based on a user’s geographic location, that location is stored. If a campaign is set up to serve content based on a user’s number of visits to a website, the number of visits is stored. This information is used to serve relevant content.
   • All information is stored anonymously so it can be used in aggregate reporting on the effectiveness of the content serving.
2. Cookies and Local Shared Objects
   • Get Smart Content only uses Local Shared Objects to track the number of times a user has viewed a campaign.
   • Local Shared Objects are not used in anyway to conflict with a user’s personal browser settings.
   • If you would like to disable Local Shared Objects, you can:
     • Visit http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager07.html
     • Browse to the Global Storage Settings tab in the Adobe Flash Player Settings Manager
     • Either change the amount of information a Local Shared Object can store, or to completely disable them, uncheck the box labeled “Allow third-party Flash Content to store data on your computer”
3. Information Sharing
   • The information collected by Get Smart Content is only used by Get Smart Content for aggregate reporting purposes and is not sent to or shared with third-party services in any way.
4. Information Security
   • We take appropriate security measures to protect against unauthorized access to or unauthorized alteration, disclosure or destruction of data. These include internal reviews of our data collection, storage and processing practices and security measures, as well as physical security measures to guard against unauthorized access to systems where we store personal data.
   • We restrict access to personal information to Get Smart Content employees, contractors and agents who need to know that information in order to operate, develop or improve our services. These individuals are bound by confidentiality obligations and may be subject to discipline, including termination and criminal prosecution, if they fail to meet these obligations.
5. Data Integrity
   • Get Smart Content processes personal information only for the purposes for which it was collected and in accordance with this Privacy Policy or any applicable service-specific privacy notice. We review our data collection, storage and processing practices to ensure that we only collect, store and process the personal information needed to provide or improve our services or as otherwise permitted under this Policy.
